On Margate Sands

A Turner Contemporary and Tate partnership project, supported by
Heritage Lottery Fund

About
Picture

On Margate Sands is an exciting partnership project between Turner Contemporary, Tate and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Working with  local partners the project will enable members of our community to explore Margate’s history, its connections to T.S Eliot and to feed this into an ambitious project, where we are connecting the past with the present, the local with the national and international and creating new opportunities for local people to develop research skills, new networks and develop their knowledge and connections to arts and archives.

Each group of participants will take part in 10 workshops with the project Artist, visit a local and national Archive and share their work on the Tate Albums platform.
